Electrolux is taking part in Australian Young Chef. That’s the only cooking awards program in Australia created to recognize and award skilled waiters, restaurateurs, and chefs – so-called next-gen leaders of the sector.
Luke Mangan turned out to be the creator of this initiative. Every year, a great number of young chefs of Australia rush to gain the title of Australian Young Chef. Eventually, Jake Kellie has managed to do this today. What’s more, he also coped with it in 2015.
In addition to the recognition as well as accolades, part of his reward included a cooking expedition to Europe for the purpose of polishing his skills via money-can’t-buy training options and also worthy experiences provided by the sponsors of the project.
The Sweden part of the event was prepared by Electrolux. It included a two-day stage for Jake Kellie at the Fäviken Restaurant. As a matter of fact, Magnus Nilsson, the Head Chef who grasped the 41st place on the World’s Best List is known for creating masterpieces of Scandinavian cuisine.
The vast majority of young cookers would only dream of a mind-blowing opportunity to work with Magnus Nilsson and learn from him. Sweden’s professional squad made this dream come true for the representatives of Australia.
By the way, Jake’s itinerary in Sweden also came with a tour of the Professional’s Centre of Excellence in the country’s capital. That’s one of 20 centres worldwide where cooking enthusiasts have a possibility to test a wide array of professional kitchen equipment. Aside from that, he collaborated with the local squad in the field of sustainable cooking.
The Professional Team took the cooking legend on a tour to some of Electrolux Professional’s best food outlets in Stockholm.
The tech giant is glad to be a part of chef’s European culinary affair and hopes this event will keep inspiring the next generation of young talents in Australia to show up from the Electrolux Appetite in the near future.
That’s a unique initiative in the challenging environment of which, chefs gain exposure, develop skills, and create P2P career networks.
You can apply for it on January 9, 2017. To learn more, visit www.appetiteforexcellence.com.
