At the moment, specialists are actively preparing professional sites for June 5th. The United Nations declared this day World Environment Day. On this day, every inhabitant of the planet can become part of a huge team that guards our environment. This event was founded in 1974 and has now become a global platform that informs the public about the state of the environment and threats.
Niklas Lindsköld, Head of Sustainability and Security, emphasizes that the health of all people on earth depends on ecosystems. Therefore, Electrolux Professional works and develops towards reducing carbon emissions and using global resources more efficiently and responsibly. The company actively participates in World Environment Day, thus demonstrating concern in this matter and expressing its intention to continue to work to protect ecosystems from further damage.
The main issue on the agenda this year is Ecosystem Restoration. Given the events of the past three years, when the whole world is fighting COVID-19, this will be an excellent prerequisite for success! So, the participants of the events scheduled for June 5th will focus on restoring the health of the planet.
Anna Bråhammar, Ljungby’s Environment Health and Safety Manager, believes that the pandemic is not a reason to abandon such a tradition as the celebration of Electrolux Professional Environment Day. At the same time, she emphasizes that the company intends to conduct it in compliance with all security measures. In addition, the use of Electrolux Professional developments in everyday household chores is a great way for every ordinary inhabitant of the earth to contribute to the conservation and restoration of our ecosystems!
Bråhammar also adds that World Environment Day is an endless field for the activities of great minds! They will all unite towards a common goal and will be able to develop a plan to combat the pandemic and ecosystem damages.
COVID-19 has devastated the entire ecosystem of the planet! Just imagine how much waste in the form of used personal protective equipment needs to be recycled! The amount of plastic waste has also increased! At this point, it is vital to show personal responsibility and interest. Show a little effort, pack the garbage properly and take it to the appropriate containers - this is very important for protecting the environment!
As part of this program, each Electrolux Professional employee will receive an Environment bag containing a snack and instructions for collecting, packing, and disposing of waste. It is a biodegradable and compostable bag that is great for hazardous waste disposal. Leading developers can also take part in this event. They can take the initiative and pick up the Environment bag from our office, then pick up the trash and share these photos online!
Probably many still remember the idea of building hotels for bugs, which was brought to life in 2019. This time we'll go further! We will plant a lot of fruit trees near these EPS hotels. This task is not difficult, but just imagine the benefits it will bring! So we can compensate butterflies, bees, beetles, and other insects for the damage that humans have caused to their natural habitat. We are part of the styrofoam production system and would like to share our experience and ideas with other companies! We took as a guide the Ljungby team, who offered to plant trees as part of their involvement in environmental protection and sustainable development.
